Alghero, Sardinia

Sardine is the second biggest island in the Mediterranean, the eight in Europe and the 48 the world. This island is placed in the centre of the occidental Mediterranean between Corsica at the north, islands which separate the Bonifacio Strait, Tunez in the south, Italia at the east and the Balearic Islands at the West. It has a surface on 24 090 km2, a similar area to Valencia. The isle, contrary to Sicilia and the italic Peninsula does not have any seismic risk. More than the 80% of the territory is formed by mountains and hills, and the highest one is Punta la Mármora (1834m.) on the Gennargentu Mountains, placed at the oriental part of the island. In Sardine there are 1849 km. of coast with lots of beaches, some of them the most beautiful of the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean weather predominates in the island, although it is a bit more severe on the interior. There are near 300 sunny days every year. The major part of the population lives in the coastal zone, where the winters are soft thanks to the sea presence, with only a few snows, and the summers are hot and dry.

Una semana no es suficiente para recorrer todas las playas de Sardegna! Pero como nos ha encantado el destino seguro que volveremos para seguir descubriendo la isla.
