Short after arrival to Innsbruck, known as the Capital of the Alps, the first thing that strikes the visitor is the close relationship between culture and nature. Located amidst the major European communication routes, and surrounded by the high mountains of the Alps, the city of Innsbruck is a meeting place, cultural exchange, trade, and increasingly, sports. This relationship is evident throughout the city as strolling through the historic center, or shopping streets, you always feel the fresh air of the mountains around you. Walking through the Maria-Theresien Strasse (city´s main street) to the old town, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the nearby mountains, the Nordkette. And the combination between culture and sport, highlights are the view of the Arc de Triomphe, Baroque, in the foreground, with the very modern ski jump Bergisel ski to the bottom. Intoxicating summit experiences. Unique mountain views. Rustic mountain huts. Guests can experience all this and more with the free mountain hiking programme from June to September. Experienced guides take guest card holders to the most impressive places and viewpoints. Join the search for alpine highlights and discover the most beautiful mountains in the region. Mountain and hiking guides take care of your safety and well-being, while sharing their mountain expertise and many valuable natural highlights that leave you wanting more.
