Day 1: Flight to Barcelona.
Check-in at your local airport at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight to Barcelona. Upon arrival pick up your rental car and drive to your selected hotel in Barcelona. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the hustle and bustle of the Catalan capital. Overnight in Barcelona.
Day 2: Barcelona.
You will have the full day to visit Barcelona. The city offers an endless range of possibilities. No matter what you have in mind, this city will always surprise you and give you just what you’re looking for. Make the most of your experience. Walk along Las Ramblas or visit some of the most famous markets in the city such as La Boqueria. Do not miss Gaudí's masterpieces such as Sagrada Familia or Güell Park. FC Barcelona´s Camp Nou is the city most visited place, where you can join the “Camp Nou Experience”. Walk along the old harbour from the Columbus Monument to the Barceloneta neighborhood. Traditional pleasure boats such as “Las Golondrinas” depart from there. Night in Barcelona.
Day 3: Barcelona-Tarragona.
Drive to Tarragona, capital of southern Catalonia (ca. 1 hour drive). The city has a long history from the Roman times of old “Tarraco”. It´s heritage is so amazing that Tarraco has been declared World Heritage by Unesco. You cannot miss the site of Tarraco, to visit the old roman heritage, specially the spectacular amphitheater. Also highly recommended is the city's cathedral. Tarragona is not only a historical town, but also a ravishing modern capital by the sea. If you visit the city in summer, you can enjoy excellent beaches. Anytime of the year you can enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere visiting the “Serrallo” a typical fishermen neighborhood. The city is also an excellent place to savour Mediterranean cuisine at the harbour restaurants. Night in Tarragona.
Day 4: Gaudí's Landscape: Reus.
Gaudí said “Originality means going back to the source”, his source was Reus, the city where he was born in 1852 and lived until he was 16 years old. In Reus (20 min. from Tarragona) you will visit the “Gaudí Centre” right in city centre, where you will learn everything about the genius. After that you can follow the well-signposted “Gaudí Route” around the city. Reus is also well known because its modernist buildings especially from architect “Domènech i Montaner”. The city itself is a bustling regional capital featuring excellent shopping possibilities. Night in Tarragona.
Day 5: Picasso's Landscape: Horta de Sant Joan.
Picasso said: “Everything I know, I learned in Horta”. He made two long stays in the village which influenced him so much and he even painted some masterpieces while in Horta. As soon as you reach Horta you will realize why this place is so special. We recommend you to visit the “Picasso Centre” to learn more about his works. Later you will be delighted by the cobbled streets and stone houses of Horta, a real hidden gem village. The mountains surrounding Horta are really impressive, someone compared them to Dolomites. You can visit the “Picasso cave” or simply walk or make an easy bike itinerary along the Greenway. It is a former railway track now a car free paradise for bikers or ramblers. You can rent bikes in Horta itself or simply walk. Overnight in Tarragona (100 Km. from Horta).
Day 6: Miró's Landscape: Mont-roig.
Miró said: “All my work is conceived in Mont-Roig”. He arrived to Mont-Roig first time in 1911, after that he spent here his summer holidays for 65 years. You can start your visit un the “Miró Centre” where you will learn everthing about the artist and its relation with Mont-Roig. Later on you can not miss the chapel of the “Virgin of the Rock” and “Mas Miró”, both places inspired two of their most famous paintings. The landscapes around Mont-Roig are famous because the “Dry Stone Huts” which you can visit following a signposted itinerary. You will really be in close contact with this place. Night in Tarragona (30 Minutes from Mont-Roig).
Day 7: Pau Casals Landscape: El Vendrell-Barcelona.
Pau Casals said: “Fortunately, in all my travels in so many foreign countries, I have never left behind the child from El Vendrell”. Casals, XX century greatest musician, was born in El Vendrell in 1876 and he spent long periods at his seaside house in Sant Salvador. The building now houses the “Pau Casals Villa Museum”, recalling the family atmosphere of Casals. After that, in your way to Barcelona, we recommend you to visit any family-owned winery in Penedès. This is Catalonia's biggest wine growing region, with many wineries to visit, taste and buy excellent wines. El Vendrell is 30 min. from Tarragona and one hour to Barcelona. Overnight in Barcelona.
Day 8: Flight back home.
Free time until the designated time to drop-off your rental car at Barcelona Airport. Check-in and departure of your flight destination your local airport. Arrival and end of our services.
