Day 1Flight to Flanders.
Arrive at the airport 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight to Brussels. Check-in, boarding and flight departure to Belgium. On arrival, you’ll make your own way to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of your first day to get a first impression of the capital of Belgium. Spend the evening strolling through the lively streets around the Grande Place. It’s also a good place to dine out in its many open-air brasseries and restaurants. Night in Brussels.
A full day to discover Brussels. You’re sure to visit the Grande Place, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, the royal quarter, its European institutions, its modernist buildings, the Tintin Museum and, the symbol of the city, the famous Atomium. Brussels is also a gastronomic paradise with excellent restaurants and the perfect place to sample the many varieties of Belgium’s highly-regarded beer. Night in Brussels.
Set off by train to Antwerp. After a journey of about 45 minutes, check in to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day exploring the city. Antwerp is a large city, the economic heart of Flanders, one of the most important ports in Europe and the global capital of the diamond industry. Night in Antwerp.
You’ll spend the morning continuing to explore the city, with its old town, fabulous Gothic cathedral and collection of Flemish art, in which the works of Rubens particularly stand out. You can also visit interesting places like the city’s historic zoo or take a boat trip around the huge port. In the middle of the afternoon, set off by train to Ghent. (50 min). Check in to your hotel and spend the night in Ghent.
You’ll have the whole day to explore the beautiful city of Ghent. It is particularly notable for the historical buildings and monuments in the old town, its cathedral, which houses the famous polyptych of the “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb” by the van Eyck brothers, the beautiful town houses in the old docks, the castle of the Counts of Flanders, the typical neighbourhood of Kraanlei, the charming streets of Patershol and various museums, such as the Museum of Fine Arts. Night in Ghent.
Set off by train to Bruges. After a short train journey (25 min.), check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day enjoying Bruges. Intersected by canals and with an old town that has not changed since the Middle Ages, it is known as the Venice of the North. It is, without doubt, one of the most charming and magical cities in Europe. Night in Bruges.
You’ll have most of the day to explore Bruges, a well-preserved medieval city where time seems to have come to a halt in the Middle Ages. Highly recommended are a boat trip along its canals and visits to Markt and Burg squares, the church with statues by Michelangelo, its museums and the famous béguinages, etc. In the middle of the afternoon, you’ll leave by train for Brussels (60 min), where you’ll spend the night.
Day 8Return home.
Before your flight home, make the most of your final day to finish off sightseeing and shopping in Brussels. You’ll make your own way to the airport and check in 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight. Boarding and flight back to your home airport. Arrival and end of trip.
